Gateway Stories
Meet some students who have or are currently engaged in Hospitality or Tourism courses in school that have been supported by this Gateway program. We would love to hear the stories of success but we also want to hear from those that are currently on the journey. In this section you will find what drives some of the participating students and perhaps their story can inspire yours in your journey in tourism and hospitality. For most if not all of us will gain something from working in Tourism & Hospitality, if you plan to make it a career or support you during your studies this industry offers skills used in all of our daily lives.
Meet Chantelle
Recently completing a Certificate II in Tourism and Hospitality in High School, Chantelle is now working full time in a hotel and completing her Certificate III in Hospitality for the next 12 months. She attributes her participation in the Gateway to industry training opportunities in accelerating her drive towards building a long term career in the industry.
Meet Ellie
Currently studying Certificate II in Tourism, Ellie enjoyed the opportunity to participate in the Gateway to Industry Royal Pines Resort 3-day work experience program to put what she has learnt in the classroom into practical experience.
Meet Max
Max has recently completed Certificate II in Tourism. Max loved having the opportunity to put theory into practise thanks to hands on training offered to him by the Gateway to Industry Program. Max is looking forward to using what he has learned to work and travel around the world as an Air Crew member.
